4 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Tuesday 2/1/22

With 11 games on the Tuesday night NHL DFS slate, it is a good time to find some more values! Who stands out?

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy -- but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.

Tuesday night has 11 games on the schedule. It is time to welcome in February with style!

Chris Tierney, Center, Ottawa Senators

FanDuel Salary: $3,700

The Ottawa Senators play six more times in the next couple of weeks, so one may see a good deal of them in this column at some point.

There is risk with Chris Tierney. However, due to injuries and such, the Ottawa center is now back in the top-six, which increases some offensive potential. He does have double-digit FanDuel Points in two of his last four games.

Normally, playing the New York Islanders is a dicey matchup, but the Islanders give up 31 shots a game, which is a decent number. That gives some room for shot volume from Tierney. He has three or more shots on goal in three of his last seven games.

Ottawa always seems to have some undervalued players. It is all about utilizing the right ones.

Nathan Bastian, Wing, New Jersey Devils

FanDuel Salary: $3,900

When all else fails, put a little more muscle in it! Nathan Bastian provides a lot of that and more for the New Jersey Devils.

He generates scoring chances at a minimum and creates space for other forwards. His net-front presence on the power play and at even strength have boosted New Jersey's once moribund man advantage. Moving up to 25th at 16.7% does not sound like much, but considering they were barely above 10% for a long while speaks volumes.

The Devils were able to chase Jack Campbell on Monday night and played great for 40 minutes. Then, they stopped playing and disaster resulted with a four-goal Toronto Maple Leafs rally.

There is a good chance that Bastian could do well again on Tuesday. He had a goal, two shots on goal, a blocked shot, and four scoring chances.

Andreas Johnsson has some upside also and could be a stacking option of sorts, too.

K'Andre Miller, Defenseman, New York Rangers

FanDuel Salary: $3,900

So, the Florida Panthers just gave up four goals to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night. They get to play the New York Rangers tonight.

Now, the New York Rangers are an interesting team that can strike offensively very quickly. Look at how they won in overtime over the weekend. K'Andre Miller tallied the game-winner, slotting into the role of Adam Fox.

Miller has the ability. He just has to assert himself. That may be a bit easier to do against an unrested Florida team. Defense may be a bit optional as transitional chances expect to be plenty.

With how good both offenses are, Miller is worth more than just a look.

Carter Hart, Goalie, Philadelphia Flyers

FanDuel Salary: $7,100

Goaltending has not been that much of a problem with Carter Hart this season. The defense in front of him has done the goaltender few favors. He has been solid despite seeing 35-plus shots per game this season. In the last two starts, Hart has faced 75 shots and stopped 70. He even helped end another long Philadelphia Flyers losing streak.

The expectation is that the Winnipeg Jets could fire 30-35 shots on Tuesday night. Overall, Philadelphia does yield 34.4 shots per game (35.2 at home). This comes along with a bottom-five ranking in unblocked shot attempts per 60.

Winnipeg's top-six can test Philadelphia defensively, which means Hart should prepare for a long night of high-danger scoring chances.

His salary is very cheap for a home goaltender on Tuesday. Maybe that win finally sparks something for the Flyers.
