4 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Tuesday 2/15/22
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy -- but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.
Tuesday night has nine games on the schedule. It is time to save a bit of salary.
Morgan Frost, Center, Philadelphia Flyers
FanDuel Salary: $3,300
The Philadelphia Flyers are just playing out the second half, so why not see the younger players and what they can do?
As a result, Morgan Frost gets a return call back up.
There is danger here because Frost can be a bit of an all-or nothing-player. He did have one assist in a five-shot effort against the Los Angeles Kings a few weeks ago, but other empty games surround that.
The potential exists, and that is why at this low of a salary, the center is worth a flier. He has a good road matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins because the "Battle Of Pennsylvania" often sees a lot of goals. 9 of the last 10 games have seen seven-plus goals combined between the two teams.
Alexis Lafreniere, Wing, New York Rangers
FanDuel Salary: $4,000
Will Alexis Lafreniere stay in the top-six? That is the biggest question here for the New York Rangers' winger.
Lafreniere has had an odd sort of season, but he does have ten goals in 45 games. The potential is here.
Facing a vulnerable Boston Bruins team should be a boon for the large, tall winger. Lafreniere has real-world points in consecutive games and has seen a couple of splashes into the top-six with some modest success.
This is a reach, but the hope is that Lafreniere can play more than the 13:33 he has averaged this season.
With his ability to better keep up with transitional play, the winger should get a few more scoring chances on Tuesday night.
K'Andre Miller, Defenseman, New York Rangers
FanDuel Salary: $3,800
K'Andre Miller has been hitting the net with more frequency of late. That is good news ahead of the clash between New York and Boston on Tuesday.
He is averaging 3 shots per game and 1.5 blocked shots per game over his past four starts. Also, Miller is playing over 22 minutes a night with regularity.
With more opportunity comes more scoring chances -- and potentially a greater chance at double-digit FanDuel Points.
Miller, at a low salary, is a solid option this Tuesday at home.
Craig Anderson, Goalie, Buffalo Sabres
FanDuel Salary: $6,800
Goaltending has been an adventure for the Buffalo Sabres, but Craig Anderson is expected to start on Tuesday night at home against a low-scoring New York Islanders team.
It has been a long season for Anderson, who missed almost three months due to an injury. He has won two of his three starts since coming back. Anderson has 6 wins in 10 appearances for Buffalo.
His 2.67 goals-against average and .916 save percentage are respectable enough to garner a look.
His salary is lower than any starting goalie on the slate. That alone is worth a roll of the dice against an Islanders' team that scores just 2.40 goals per contest (29th in the NHL).
