3 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Monday 3/21/22

Monday features a DFS search for values on this NHL trade deadline day. Who are the top low-salaried plays?

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.

Monday night has four games on the schedule. Let's get thrifty!

Keegan Kolesar, Center, Vegas Golden Knights

FanDuel Salary: $3,500

The idea is to look at players who hopefully do not get traded today. Keegan Kolesar should be safe and has been playing better of late.

Kolesar, despite limited ice time, has three assists in his last four games. Also, he will block shots on occasion, as well (six in his previous five games).

This Monday night game against the Minnesota Wild is important. Kolesar brings an edge that could be valuable in what expects to be a game with playoff-like intensity.

He has a low floor (just two shots in his last five contests) and only plays about 11 minutes a night. This is a risky flier, to say the least.

Logan O'Connor, Wing, Colorado Avalanche

FanDuel Salary: $3,600

Without Gabriel Landeskog in the lineup and Alex Newhook struggling, Logan O'Connor benefits temporarily, moving into the Colorado Avalanche top-six.

He has just one assist in his last seven games himself, but Colorado is still playing him around 14 minutes a night in a slightly more elevated scoring role.

The matchup against Edmonton is solid, and O'Connor is averaging three scoring chances a game during this span.

O'Connor excels at creating space, which often brings about opportunities. It is another volatile risk, but at just $3,600, he could be worth it.

Brett Kulak, Defenseman, Montreal Canadiens

FanDuel Salary: $3,900

So, Brett Kulak, like most Montreal Canadiens, is playing better under Martin St. Louis.

Because his numbers can be risky, Kulak will be well less than 5% rostered tonight. There is also the off-chance he could be traded, as well.

Being patient here has its benefits. The Montreal defenseman does have three or more shots on goal in five of his previous seven starts.

At a mere $3,900 salary, Kulak is worth a look against a Boston team without Patrice Bergeron tonight.
