The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.
Wednesday night features four games on the schedule. Let's get dangerous!
Casey Mittelstadt, Center, Buffalo Sabres
FanDuel Salary: $4,100
The center pool is a bit thinner than usual on the short four-game slate. However, Casey Mittelstadt possesses a reasonable floor for the Buffalo Sabres.
Mittelstadt snapped out of an offensive funk against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday with a goal and an assist. That came along with three shots, two blocked shots, and four scoring chances.
Wednesday night's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins is against an unrested team. Goals could come at an elevated rate.
He has some risk -- no question about it -- but the pivot plays top-six minutes and sees solid power-play time. That alone is worth a shot.
Taylor Raddysh, Wing, Chicago Blackhawks
FanDuel Salary: $3,500
With the trade deadline come and gone, more risks are to be taken. Taylor Raddysh is one of those.
He saw an increased place in the Chicago lineup in his second game with them. The results were electric. He had a goal, assist, and four shots on goal in a little over 15 minutes of action.
Playing against Anaheim will not hurt his chances. After all, the Ducks have allowed 31 goals during their seven-game losing streak.
Raddysh looks poised to take advantage of this new opportunity. At just $3,500, he saves a lot of salary to spend elsewhere.
P.K. Subban, Defenseman, New Jersey Devils
FanDuel Salary: $4,100
Simply, P.K. Subban on a shorter slate is worth a look against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Because his numbers can be all over the place, Subban has one of the higher volatile outlooks, as well.
The New Jersey Devils defenseman has two goals and an assist in the last three contests. His minutes have been managed to maximize offensive chances.
At just $4,100, the third-pairing defenseman sees significant power-play time, which makes him worth another flier tonight.
