3 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 3/30/22
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.
Wednesday night drops six games on the schedule. Let's have some fun!
Oskar Sundqvist, Center, Detroit Red Wings
FanDuel Salary: $3,500
The class of centers at lower salaries is a little lower than usual on Wednesday again. Oskar Sundqvist could be a high-risk, moderate-reward option from Detroit.
With Sundqvist seeing more of a middle-six role in Detroit, his minutes have come up to more than 14 a night recently.
That does not seem significant, but he had been playing fourth-line minutes in St. Louis. His output is also a little hit and miss, but Sundqvist does have six shots on goal and two blocked shots in his last four games (and one goal plus two assists on the score sheet).
An unrested team like the New York Rangers on Wednesday may boost his fantasy potential as well.
Mattias Janmark, Wing, Vegas Golden Knights
FanDuel Salary: $3,600
Mattias Janmark is seeing just a little more of an offensive role for Vegas, and he is taking advantage of it.
His salary has hovered around the minimum $3.500 for almost the entire season. However, Janmark has two goals and an assists in his previous five contests. He has found himself getting top-six ice time, and those increased opportunities have led to some solid results.
Against a team like Seattle, Janmark could be an option. He also sees power-play time versus a 30th-ranked penalty kill unit (73.3%).
The winger has an opportunity to approach double-digit FanDuel points for a third straight time on Wednesday.
Jordan Spence, Defenseman, Los Angeles Kings
FanDuel Salary: $4,100
Drew Doughty and his setback have been a benefit for Jordan Spence and the Los Angeles Kings.
The young blueliner is averaging more than 20 minutes a night for Los Angeles as they try and hold down a playoff spot.
He has a goal and three assists in 10 games and has proven to produce an effective floor for DFS purposes with 16 blocks and 12 shots in that timeframe.
No one is going to mistake Spence for Doughty, but he is filling in reasonably well.
Brett Kulak and even Dylan Coghlan may options down here as well, but Spence expects to be a top-four fixture for the rest of the regular season.
