3 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 4/6/22
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.
Wednesday night presents five games on the schedule. Let's have some fun!
Sam Carrick, Center, Anaheim Ducks
FanDuel Salary: $3,700
The budget-friendly options are few and far between at center, but it is incredibly desirable that Sam Carrick played top-line minutes on Monday night.
That is the second time in three games Carrick has played 16-plus minutes, and desperate times call for desperate measures.
Carrick hasn't shown elite production this season, but the extra ice time could offer up some opportunities at home.
With Calgary giving up plenty of goals lately (23 in their last seven contests), Carrick could be at least worth a look with a decent 6.0-goal total on tap.
Michael Rasmussen, Wing, Detroit Red Wings
FanDuel Salary: $3,700
Michael Rasmussen's floor is low, but the winger does have three goals in his last four games.
Yet, his salary has stayed around $3,700. Rasmussen has also blocked four shots in this timeframe and added six scoring chances.
Detroit is not rested, but he is a younger forward who may just wind up playing more as veterans are on the bench for long stretches due to the back-to-back.
The winger keeps finding ways into the box score. Playing time will always follow.
Alec Martinez, Defenseman, Vegas Golden Knights
FanDuel Salary: $3,900
As long as the salary of Alec Martinez stays level for the Vegas Golden Knights, we can turn here.
The veteran blueliner expects to play 20-plus minutes again sooner rather than later. He is blocking shots and generating scoring chances. However, so far, both have not happened in the same game.
He has just an assist in four games since his return but Martinez does have 4 shots, 12 blocked shots, and 8 scoring chances in totality.
There just are not any defenders that block shots quite like the veteran Martinez on this slate -- especially among the value choices.
