Everton vs West Ham

Everton to Win (Even)

Everton were dominant at home against bottom-10 teams last season, finishing with an 8W-2D-0L record against teams from the bottom half of the table. This season, Everton defeated Southampton and drew Huddersfield in their first two home matches of the season, and they will take on last-place West Ham this Sunday.

West Ham are currently the worst team in the EPL, holding a 0-0-4 record, including a -8 goal differential. Both of their away games this season were disasters, granted it was stiff competition, as they lost by a combined 7-1 scoreline against Liverpool and Arsenal. Last season, West Ham finished 3-6-10 away from home with a -18 goal difference, so their away problems have extended long beyond the two-game stretch from this year.

It is worth noting that Brazilian star Richarlison will be absent from Everton’s lineup due to suspension, but even without their star man, Everton should be able to secure a victory against a floundering West Ham side.

Watford vs Man Utd

Watford +1 (5/6)

Watford have gotten off to a dream start at 4-0-0, while Manchester United have endured an unimpressive 2-0-2 start to their season. Watford currently hold the fourth-highest collective WhoScored.com rating in the EPL this season, at 6.99, while Manchester United hold the 15th-best, at 6.66. So it is certainly more than just luck that has the Hornets ahead of Man United in the standings thus far.

Even dating back to last year, Watford won or tied 13 out of 19 home matches (68.4%), while Manchester United won 10 out of 19 away matches (52.6%). Taking into account the large sample from last season, combined with recent form, Watford seem to be in a great spot to at least earn one point in this weekend’s matchup with Jose Mourinho’s side.

Southampton vs Brighton

Southampton to Score 2 or more Goals (6/5)

Southampton have scored two goals or more only one time in their four opening matches this season, but they should be due for more goals if they continue they maintain their current shooting numbers. Southampton currently rank fourth in the league in shots per game, which includes a ranking of eighth in shots taken inside the penalty area as well as fourth in shots taken inside the six-yard box.

Southampton have consistently put themselves in position to score goals, and they are up against a Brighton side that has been vulnerable defensively. Brighton have conceded two goals or more in three of their four EPL matches this season, and they have given up the eighth-most shots per game in the league. Look for Southampton to have plenty of chances to score against the Seagulls.
