Jose Ramirez, 3B, Cleveland Indians

Position Rank: 11th

Current ADP: 95.25

Jose Ramirez was a godsend for the Cleveland Indians last year since the Juan Uribe signing didn't work out. But like shortstop, third base is also a position stacked with tons of talent -- even when you get outside the top 100.

The 2016 season saw the most homers hit since the turn of the century, so finding power for your fantasy baseball team is the easier than it's been in a while. Third base is typically a position where power is a notable characteristic, but that's not necessarily something Ramirez excels at in comparison to his peers.

Among 24 qualified hitters at the position last season, his 11 homers were only more than Martin Prado and Yunel Escobar, while his .150 ISO ranked just 18th-best.

It's crazy to see other third baseman like Evan Longoria (105.72) and Justin Turner (129.03) going well after him, but they're also in their 30s, while Ramirez is only 24 years old. It'd be better to compare him to someone at the same juncture in their career as him, which we can do with 26-year-old third baseman Jake Lamb.

Lamb's 29 homers ranked 9th among qualified third baseman last year, while his .260 ISO ranked 4th among the same group -- and that's with a completely woeful second-half performance.

With his current ADP at 147.73, Lamb is going about 50 picks later. Ramirez's batting average projection is superior to Lamb's, but they're basically a push in runs, while Lamb has the clear upper hand in homers and RBI.
