3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 6/25/18

If you were told you could get a guy with a 2.95 SIERA and 27.3% strikeout rate for under $6,000, you would be interested, right?

Well, that's essentially what we're getting in Seth Lugo, and while much of his success has come through the bullpen this year, he's still managed a stellar 3.22 FIP, 29.9% strikeout rate, and 3.9% walk rate through four starts. His sudden rise in punchouts may seem curious, but they can be attributed to an increase in curveball usage, so we can trust some of the strides he's made this year.

Lugo has a mediocre matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates, who suppress strikeouts with a 19.3% rate against right-handers, but they're only getting a 3.77 implied team total, and he hardly needs to be perfect at this basement-level pricing. If you're looking to stack an expensive lineup tonight, Lugo could very well be your best path towards making it work.
