Mahle has had a particularly rough time with left-handed bats, getting throttled for a .414 wOBA and 5.43 xFIP on a 45.0% hard-hit rate, 46.9% fly-ball rate and 12.6% soft-hit rate in the split.

For context, only four qualifying hitters have a wOBA higher than .414 on the year. If "lefties against Tyler Mahle" were a single player, they would be one of the most productive guys in the Majors.

Matt Adams doesn't need much help to produce against right-handed pitching. Over a 210-plate-appearance sample this year, he has turned a 38.4% hard-hit rate and 47.3% fly-ball rate into a .401 wOBA and .289 ISO.
