The San Diego Padres are starting southpaw Robbie Erlin, putting the Chicago Cubs' offense in a good spot.

Erlin has pitched very well this season, but most of his 59 2/3 innings have come in relief. In his two starts, he has managed a 4.65 xFIP, getting crushed for 11 earned runs in 7 innings.

Willson Contreras has shown plenty of pop against southpaws this year, turning a 34.5% hard-hit rate and 37.9% fly-ball rate into a .374 wOBA and .205 ISO.
