Nelson Cruz has crushed left-handed pitching in 2016, hitting almost as many homers against lefties (seven) as righties (eight) despite 96 fewer plate appearances. He’s totaled ridiculous splits with a .329 isolated slugging and .402 wOBA while his hard-hit rate is 10 points higher at 39.3 percent.

He’ll face Drew Smyly tonight, who -- despite his nearly 4:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio -- has allowed 14 homers, including 11 to right-handed hitters. With a .212 isolated slugging, righties have been able to hit for great power against him. It doesn’t help that Smyly is a fly-ball pitcher, either, as he allows a 50 percent fly-ball rate to hitters on both sides of the plate.

At just $3,700, Cruz is a great outfield option tonight.
