Brewers' Colin Rea heading to bump Thursday night
Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Colin Rea will start on Thursday versus the San Diego Padres.
Rea will make a spot-start after the Brewers purchased his contract from Triple-A Nashville on Thursday. Janson Junk was optioned to Nashville in a corresponding roster move. This is Rea's first time in the bigs since a one-appearance campaign in 2021.
The 32-year-old right-hander had not allowed an earned run through seven innings of long relief this season at the Triple-A level, but Rea is a tough sell on Thursday's short slate.
