David Villar returns to Giants, starting Wednesday afternoon
The San Francisco Giants recalled infielder David Villar from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.
Villar will replace J.D. Davis (ankle) on third base and bat eighth in Wednesday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Jordan Montgomery and the St. Louis Cardinals. He could potentially see playing time over the next week or so if Davis winds up landing on the injured list.
