Josh Smith hitting fifth Thursday for Rangers
Texas Rangers infielder Josh Smith will start on third base and bat fifth in Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Kenta Maeda and the Detroit Tigers.
The left-handed hitting Smith was held out of Wednesday's lineup against a lefty pitcher, but he entered as a pinch-hitter in the ninth and went 1-for-1 with a double and a game-winning RBI. Davis Wendzel will return to the bench after covering the hot corner on Wednesday.
numberFire's models project Smith for 8.2 FanDuel points on Thursday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Rangers' implied total (4.23) is No. 5 out of 10 active teams today.
