The 10 Best NBA Seasons by Teenagers
9. Andrew Bynum, Los Angeles Lakers (2006-07)
From one big man to another. Unlike Turner, Andrew Bynum wasn't a rookie in his age-19 season. It was Bynum's second year in the Association after playing just 338 total minutes in his first.
On a team with Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom, Bynum found the role in which he fit in best on the team and produced in it. He was basically a part-time player, seeing only 21.9 minutes per game, yet he played in all 82 games and averaged 7.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.
Bynum converted from the field at a 55.8% clip and posted 2.3 offensive win shares on the season. Overall, he contributed win shares at a rate of .112 per 48 minutes.
The Los Angeles Lakers finished 42-40 and went on to lose in the first round of the playoffs. In the postseason, Bynum played 11 minutes a game in five games, scoring four points and securing 4.6 rebounds per night. He built upon that season and was a big reason LA won consecutive titles the next two years.
