Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, SF, Charlotte Hornets

FanDuel Price: $5,600

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

The Charlotte Hornets will surely be on the radar of many as they take on the fantasy-friendly Phoenix Suns, but Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is normally the fourth Hornet that people consider, behind the likes of Walker, Nicolas Batum, and Frank Kaminsky.

As if that wasn't enough, small forward actually has a few options that are likely to be chalky tonight. Jimmy Butler is coming off a dud, but should be on all daily fantasy players' radar as the Bulls take on the Warriors in what should be an up-tempo and high-scoring affair.

T.J. Warren has been playing big minutes for the Suns since the All-Star break and has rewarded daily fantasy owners with a 30.6-point FanDuel average. He should be chalky at just $5,800. Finally, Andre Iguodala is just $4,800 and should be popular while filling in for Durant and Golden State possessing the highest implied team total on the slate.

Why You Should Use Him:

Outside of a letdown against the Los Angeles Clippers in which he fouled out in just 21 minutes, Kidd-Gilchrist has really been solid over his past five games, averaging 31 FanDuel points in the other four. Three of those games went for over 30 FanDuel points, which gives him four in his past eight games.

Phoenix easily presents the best matchup on Thursday, as they rank 28th in defensive efficiency. They've also played at the fourth-fastest pace and allowed the most points in transition. Perhaps no Charlotte player has been more effective in transition than Kidd-Gilchrist, who is second on the team in transition points and has a 64% field goal percentage in transition, which is higher than any qualified Hornet.

Phoenix's numbers against small forwards this season look decent on paper, but the majority of those numbers were accumulated with P.J. Tucker as their starter. With Tucker out of town, Warren has been handed a larger role, and he isn't nearly the defender that Tucker is -- he ranks 75th among 79 qualified small forwards in defensive real plus-minus (DRPM).

Kidd-Gilchrist isn't often thought of as a high-upside player due to his limited offensive role, but he has flashed 40-FanDuel-point potential recently and should thrive in this up-tempo matchup. He's a viable play in all formats tonight.
