NBA Free Agency Preview: 10 Lesser Talked About Names
Brandan Wright
This season, Brandan Wright (6.8 nERD) might have only played 19.3 minutes per contest -- mind you with three different teams -- but he has long been the King of Advanced Analytics. In his seven years of experience, Wright has been on many teams in part-time roles. However, he's managed to post a career PER of 20.6 in such roles.
This past year, Wright performed no differently. Per game, Wright scored 7.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 19.3 minutes. How'd he finish with such efficient numbers then? Well, he shot 64.2% from the field, shot 69.6% from the free throw line and had a Net Rating of +29 (resulting from an Offensive Rating of 133 and a Defensive Rating of 104). His per 36 numbers -- 13.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks -- are even more telling of Wright's impact on the court.
Wright and the Suns have a mutual desire for Wright to return to Phoenix. If for some reason that doesn't happen I could see a preseason contender grabbing Wright as a very valuable first big off the bench.
