NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Saturday 1/20/18
If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.
Best of the Best
Kevin Durant (FanDuel Price: $10,700) - The Golden State Warriors-Houston Rockets matchup on Saturday is the premier clash of the day for casual NBA fans and DFS players alike. Not only does the game pit the top two teams in the Western Conference against each other in a potential playoff preview, but the two clubs are also the top-scoring teams in the NBA. The over/under is a massive 233.5 with the Dubs' implied total pushing 119, making them prime targets in fantasy, starting with Durant. Since missing a trio of games with a calf injury, the forward has been on fire, averaging 28.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.4 steals, and 3.0 threes in his last five games. With Rockets' small forward Trevor Ariza still out due to suspension, Durant should find more room to score tonight in what should be a barn-burner.
