Jalen McDaniels (trade) unavailable Friday for 76ers

Philadelphia 76ers power forward Jalen McDaniels (trade) will not make his team debut on Friday against the New York Knicks.

What It Means:

The 76ers acquired McDaniels in a three-team trade with the Charlotte Hornets and Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday, but he hasn't been cleared to play yet. His next chance to play will be on Saturday versus the Brooklyn Nets. McDaniels is expected to compete Georges Niang for minutes off the bench, but he could also potentially replace P.J. Tucker in the starting lineup.

McDaniels averaged 23.0 FanDuel points in 26.7 minutes per game for the Hornets this season, with 10.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 3-pointers. His 55.1 true shooting percentage and 51.3 effective field goal percentage are both career-worsts.
