5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 5
Emmanuel Sanders Leads All Players With a 33.59% Target Market Share
Emmanuel Sanders’ 51 targets are the sixth-most of any wide receiver and 17 more than Demaryius Thomas, who sits second in targets on the Denver Broncos. This is a big change from last season when Thomas finished fourth among all wide receivers with 177 targets, while Sanders was 13th with 137.
The gap has even increased recently, with Sanders being targeted on 39.13% of the Broncos’ targets over their past three games. Over that stretch, Sanders has also caught more passes than Thomas in each game for a total of 42 more yards.
Both of Denver's top receivers have a positive matchup this week against the depleted San Diego Chargers secondary that allowed double-digit fantasy points to both Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree in Week 5.
