Mike Davis, RB, San Francisco 49ers

Carlos Hyde has been ruled out for Week 7, leaving Mike Davis as the 49ers' top running back. When Hyde went down in Week 6, Davis played 24 of the team's 29 offensive snaps over the remainder of the game.

Chip Kelly's 49ers are committed to running the ball, regardless of game flow. They have been the league's second-most run heavy team (with a 1.00 pass-to-run ratio) despite a 1-5 record that would suggest a much more pass-heavy approach while playing from behind.

Hyde has seen 109 opportunities (carries plus targets) this season -- good for the ninth-most in the league -- and saw 20-plus carries in three of his five healthy games. Even if Davis doesn't directly replace that volume, he should be in for a big workload.

Tampa Bay has been reasonably solid against the run this year. But volume is king at running back, and the 49ers commitment to the running game makes their lead back fairly matchup proof.
