Houston Texans: Quarterback

Here we go again. Brock Osweiler is back in the saddle as the Texans' starting quarterback, reviving gruesome memories of his struggles earlier in the year. This should be mighty interesting.

Osweiler finished 33rd in Passing NEP per drop back of the 39 quarterbacks who had at least 100 drop backs. Most of the guys beneath him were either back-ups or players who eventually lost their starting jobs. He did move up to 28th in Success Rate, but that's not enough to erase his overall crimes against efficiency.

The one, small glimmer of hope is Osweiler did look better while filling in for Tom Savage in Week 17. He didn't throw an interception, and he finished with 1.83 Passing NEP on 43 drop backs. While that's far from good, it's also not rivaling the levels of incompetency he showed earlier in the year.

Given the matchup with the also-quarterback-deficient Raiders, "far from good" may be enough to advance to the second round.
