Sammy Watkins, WR, Buffalo Bills
Positional ADP: WR16 | Projected Finish: WR18
Another slide, another close call. Sammy Watkins is a fabulous talent, but he comes with a lot of risk, too.
We all know he's missed 11 games over the past two seasons. But because of nagging injuries, he hasn't always been fully involved even when he's on the field. Watkins has only gotten six or more targets in roughly half (20) of his career games (37). Watkins is the kind of player who can do a lot of damage really quickly, but that's still a lot of games on his track record with not a lot of opportunity.
There's good reason to think we should continue to worry about injuries. Here are the wideouts most likely to be injured, per Sports Injury Predictor.
Player | Probability of Injury | Projected Games Missed |
---|---|---|
Sammy Watkins | 81.6% | 4.51 |
Jeremy Maclin | 75.5% | 3.07 |
DeSean Jackson | 73.1% | 2.89 |
Robert Woods | 68.6% | 3.07 |
Watkins is the most likely candidate to be injured, and he is projected to miss more than four games. That's a lot of risk at this ADP.
Instead Try
Sign me up for DeAndre Hopkins. Not only is he one of the least like wideouts to get injured, he projects to be a top-12 receiver.
