Robby Anderson Is a Sneaky WR2

Who would have guessed before the season that the Jets would be 4-5 after Week 9 while their state-mates the Giants -- who made the playoffs last year -- would be 1-7? It just goes to show how little we can actually predict what happens in the NFL, but also highlights why it is so crucial for us to stay on our toes and keep learning during the season.

Robby Anderson of the Jets is experiencing something of a second-year breakout. In fact, he has scored the 17th-most fantasy points at the wide receiver position this year. Also, per Josh Hermsmeyer's AirYards.com, Anderson has a 39 percent share of the Jets' air yards, a top-10 ranking that's an indicator of opportunity and potential.

He's not wasting his chances either. Anderson has scored a touchdown in each of his last three games, including the Jets' upset win over the Bills on Thursday Night Football in Week 9. His opportunity is there, but it is we as fantasy players that are failing to capitalize on that opportunity.

Despite the quality numbers, Anderson is still available in over 40 percent of Yahoo! leagues. His low ownership percentage demonstrates how preseason judgments can cloud the reasoning of fantasy owners even during the season. So don't let the the Jets lousy preseason rep deter you from firing up Robby Anderson as your WR2.
