Phillip Lindsay, RB, Denver Broncos

Price: $4,900

For all the hype surrounding second-round pick Royce Freeman coming into the season, he barely led the Denver Broncos' backfield in snaps and failed to lead the group in touches in Week 1.

Phillip Lindsay played only 3 fewer snaps than Freeman (26 to Freeman's 29), but saw an identical 15 carries, while adding 2 receptions on 3 targets in the receiving game. Freeman was not targeted once.

Lindsay was also far more efficient than Freeman. He finished with a higher Rushing Net Expected Points total, and his success rate (the percentage of carries on which a player generates positive NEP) was way ahead of Freeman's, with a 53.3% to 33.3% edge.

From the looks of that game, the Broncos would do well to increase Lindsay's workload. Even if they don't, though, and he continues to split work with Freeman, he's priced only $400 above the minimum salary for running backs.

Sitting that cheap while the Broncos boast a 26-point implied total against the Oakland Raiders makes Lindsay easy to like.
