5 DraftKings Bargains for Week 16
Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys
DraftKings Price: $5,700
Projected Points: 19.84
Projected Value (points per $1,000): 3.48
For $1,000 more and additional safety off of Nick Foles, DFS gamers can look towards Dak Prescott as another quarterback option. The Vegas sportsbooks believe that this will be a rebound spot for the Dallas Cowboys as identified by having the fourth-highest team total at 27.5. As a 7.5-point home favorite, the Cowboys are expected to score and control this game throughout against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Like many of the quarterbacks last week, Prescott returned poor results for fantasy owners. His 5.3 yards per attempt and 62% completion rate were season lows. This was also his first game where he didn't manage to have a rush attempt, where he’s averaged 4.8 per game. The lack of any passing or rushing touchdowns certainly didn’t help, either, as that hasn’t happened since Week 1.
The Buccaneers have slowly gotten better as the season has gone on, no longer dead last in a lot of defensive metrics. However, their seasonal numbers still do not hold them highly, and quarterbacks have still produced against them. Their 18.7 DraftKings points per game allowed to the position over the last three games is within the top 10 despite facing run-focused offenses in the Panthers, Saints, and Ravens.
It’s difficult to quantify the importance of playing in a dome. With overall league scoring dipping in recent weeks, catching teams indoors is generally better than outside where 40-degree forecasts will be the norm. It’s no coincidence that three of the top four projected scoring main slate teams happen to be playing indoors. The “dome effect” in turn should help the scoring environment for both teams.
With such a narrow concentration of production being funneled within a few skill players in this offense, it makes sense stacking Dak with either Ezekiel Elliott or Amari Cooper with the goal of capturing all of the team equity.
