5 DraftKings Bargains for Week 16
Nick Foles, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
DraftKings Price: $4,700
Projected Points: 17.19
Projected Value (points per $1,000): 3.66
The holidays are around the corner and St. Nick is here to deliver some value to this DFS slate. The keys to the starting quarterback position for the Philadelphia Eagles have been turned over to Nick Foles - for at least another week anyway. With the Eagles not mathematically eliminated from playoff contention they will be playing for a win.
Foles struggled mightily in the two games he started to begin the season. His 5.5 yards per attempt was pedestrian and close to 2 yards below the 2018 league average. That was with a worse receiving corp, though. Alshon Jeffery was rehabbing his injury to start the season and starting wide receiver Mike Wallace was injured in Foles’ second game. Not to mention Golden Tate was not on the roster, who is certainly better than Kamar Aiken in acting as Foles’ third leading receiver in Week 2.
Last Sunday night we were able to observe Foles with a propped up supporting cast against the Los Angeles Rams. His yards per attempt spiked to 8.7, and he had a completion percentage north of 75% and took zero sacks - all season bests. Odds makers seem to believe in Foles, tool, as the Eagles are small home favorites to the 10-win Houston Texans.
The Texans defense also shapes up to being a pass funnel. They tend to allow production and efficiency towards the pass than the run, as evident by their numberFire power rankings. The Texans are the second-best team in stopping the run but only 21st against the pass. The 19-spot difference between the two would make the Texans the biggest pass funnel in the league. As a result, over their last three games the Texans have allowed third-most DraftKings points per game at 23.
The slate has many of the top-flight quarterbacks on the higher end of the pricing spectrum, so Foles is a viable option at the bottom end of said spectrum that provides extra salary relief from the middle tier.
