Don't Draft These 10 Guys
C.J. Spiller, RB, Buffalo Bills
Spiller's in a unique situation in that the Bills are one of the most run-heavy teams in the NFL, so he could see volume, but his numbers just don't add up. His average draft position has been in Round 3 all summer long, and there's reason to believe that this type of cost could actually be his ceiling.
First, let's not forget about Fred Jackson. Sure, the dude could probably be your dad, but his 33-year-old body hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. He not only ranked third in the league in goal-line carries last year, but his 200-plus carries and 40-plus receptions have only been accomplished by one other running back in NFL history: Walter freaking Payton.
The Bills' extending Jackson's contract over the offseason shows they still trust his geriatric body. Meanwhile, C.J. Spiller could be on his way out, leading me to believe his volume won't be substantial enough to warrant a third-round draft selection.
