Let's just get straight with two facts up front: Ben Tate isn't the strongest back in the world, and given all of their holes, it's unlikely the Browns would have invested a third-round pick in Terrance West if they thought in their heart of hearts that he was.

It still remains to be seen how Ben Tate will bounce back from his injury - you'll have to check the latest reports in order to ultimately make a decision - but it's clear that West is a very talented back. It's also clear that the Browns would be much better served investing in youth, strong comeback at Pittsburgh notwithstanding.

Depending on Tate's health, West may not prove to be someone you can start Week 2 in confidence, but like Bishop Sankey, he could become the full-time starter come midseason. There's no reason not to buy early.
