Don't Start These 8 Players in Week 4
Roddy White, WR, Atlanta Falcons
It may feel like we're picking on the old guys at the receiver position today, but this simply isn't a prime set of circumstances for another seasoned vet in Roddy White. Has the Minnesota Vikings' defense gotten a decent schedule thus far to keep their defensive rank high? Sure. But when your team holds the Saints' receivers to just 160 yards, that's not that bad. Minnesota ranks 13th in the league in the Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP metric, and has proved a tougher challenge than expected for some passing attacks.
I don't expect that to hold up against a Falcons offense that absolutely devastated the Buccaneers in Week 3, but I do expect there to be some limitations for the Falcons. Xavier Rhodes and Captain Munnerlyn are two exciting, young playmakers out on the wings in this secondary, but their one weakness is size. This is a short secondary, and the Falcons will likely turn to their two (physically) huge playmakers in Julio Jones and Levine Toilolo to keep drives going. Roddy White has some of this size advantage, but is hampered by injury and slowed by age, and I'm not sure we should even expect him to be on the field given reports about his hamstring from last week.
