Sammy Watkins, WR, Buffalo Bills

Sammy Watkins is the 18th-highest targeted receiver in the NFL, and also comes in at 23rd in Reception NEP. He has quickly become a featured part of the Buffalo offense, and is supported by the coaching staff's change from E.J. Manuel to Kyle Orton at quarterback. So, why shouldn't we expect him to thrive in Week 7?

Watkins will toe off against a Vikings defense that currently ranks 11th in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP. The Vikings' above-average secondary and pass rush should hinder much of the efficiency that Buffalo's short passing game offers, especially on the part of budding young cover cornerback Xavier Rhodes and the tenacious Captain Munnerlyn.

Minnesota has also allowed more than 12 receptions in just two games this year, so Watkins may not be a legitimate PPR threat this week. Consider, too, that much of Watkins' value is derived from his volume (37th in the league in Reception NEP on a per target basis) and this may be a matchup you avoid if at all possible this week.
