DraftKings Daily Fantasy Football: Top Punt Plays for Week 8
Zach Ertz, TE, Philadelphia Eagles ($3,200)
Zach Ertz at the almost-minimum price of $3,000 is highway robbery this week. Ertz destroyed the Cardinals last season (five catches, 68 yards, 2 touchdowns), and now Arizona is without their top linebackers from a year ago (Karlos Dansy and Daryl Washington).
The middle of the field will be exposed, which is perfect for a downfield weapon like Ertz. I would also not be surprised to see him split out wide against a linebacker to take advantage of his speed and route-running abilities. Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly specifically game planned to get the tight ends involved last year, and they combined for 9 receptions, 98 yards, and 3 touchdowns.
I’d expect much of the same on Sunday. The Cardinals are still awful defending against tight ends, giving up the seventh most fantasy points to the position.
Ertz could be due for another monster day, and look for him to be targeted heavily in the red zone. Not to mention, his Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) of 28.15 is 12th amongst all tight ends, which is pretty impressive considering he’s not on the field all the time.
