8 Preseason Waiver Wire Players Who Can Help Win Your Fantasy Football League

In the first game of the preseason, Phillip Dorsett quickly showed everyone why the Colts spent a first round pick on the former Miami Hurricane. Using his breakaway 4.24 40-yard speed, Dorsett was able to separate from defenders easily on his way to a 4-catch, 51-yard day.

And while he may have leapfrogged Donte Moncrief as the number three wideout on this team, as our own Joe Redemann has said recently, his current upside is capped at 70 targets as the fourth or fifth option in the Colts passing game.

If nothing else on this offense changes, reasonable expectations for Dorsett this year should be right around Moncrief's rookie season numbers from 2014, in which he played the same third wideout, deep threat role that Dorsett is expected to fill this year.

With Moncrief tallying just 32 receptions for 444 yards and 3 touchdowns last season, it's clear that Dorsett will need an injury to one of the players ahead of him on the receiving depth charts to make a real impact for fantasy football, but if that happens he would become an excellent high upside option as someone that could inherit the roughly 100 targets sent perennially to the number two wideout in Pep Hamilton's offense.
