FanDuel Studs to Target in Week 6
DeAndre Hopkins
Plenty of people worried about DeAndre Hopkins' potential production when Arian Foster went down with a groin injury in the preseason. These worries were confounded by the fact that no one knew at the time who would be throwing Hopkins the ball.
But as it turns out, none of these worries mattered, and Hopkins appears to be the second coming of Josh Gordon, except much better behaved, in that it doesn't matter who throws him the ball because he is going to get his regardless.
Hopkins' production pace at this point is ridiculous. Through five games, he's currently on pace to receive a straight ridiculous 240 targets, which would be an NFL record. He's also on pace to catch 134 balls for 1,849 yards and 9 touchdowns. Those are upper-echelon in NFL history type numbers for a single season.
And this week, the man they call Nuk gets to go against the 31st-ranked pass defense in the Jacksonville Jaguars, who, per our NEP metrics, have given up an outlandish 57 points more than expectation via the air in five short games this season.
Until Hopkins' 15 target-per-game pace slows down, he's bordering on must start in your cash game lineups. The safety he provides with that kind of volume is simply not easy to replicate. As such, lock him and load him this weekend.
