FanDuel Studs to Target in Week 6
Greg Olsen
One of my better calls from last week was recommending Tyler Eifert against the Seahawks' defense as a tournament option. Part of the thinking that went into this is that folks are generally scared to roster any offensive player against the 'Hawks, and recent history shows they just haven't been a dominating unit against tight ends. Just ask Antonio Gates, who torched them for three touchdowns last season. Now you can ask Eifert too.
While people's opposition to rostering offensive players against the Seahawks might begin softening some, it's doubtful that people will begin treating the team's defense against tight ends in the same vein they treat the Raiders. As such, Greg Olsen will probably be a pretty low-owned option in tournaments this week despite what Eifert just did to them.
There are some points worth mentioning as a note of caution. Eifert did his work against the Seahawks at home, whereas Olsen and the Panthers will be on the road in CenturyLink stadium. And the Panthers have faced the Seahawks four times in the last three seasons, failing to score more than 17 points in any of those games. Olsen himself hasn't been that great against the Seahawks either, having failed to reach more than 58 yards against them and registering no touchdowns in each meeting he's faced them as a Panther.
So don't go rostering Olsen with blanket exposure in all your tournament lineups. But with the recent history of the Seahawks having trouble defending against the tight end position, and an opportunity to roster Olsen at low ownership because of the opponent's defensive reputation, Olsen is a solid tournament play in Week 6.
