5 Daily Fantasy Football Matchups to Exploit in Week 10
Washington Passing Offense
Before looking too deeply into Washington, I should note that their opponents in the New Orleans Saints are pretty attractive this week, too. Drew Brees's recent production makes him less alluring because of potential high ownership, but guys like Willie Snead need to be under consideration.
I was super confident about this matchup for Washington at the beginning of the week. But as things have progressed, I'm getting more and more nervous. Why is that?
It makes too much sense.
We've been trained this whole year that nothing is logical, and everything you hold dear will eventually crash and burn your face off. So, when a team as seemingly volatile as Washington pops up as being an obvious value, I feel justified in being a little wary.
That's not enough to shove me off of this one, though. It basically meets every criterion when I'm looking for a passing game to roster in daily fantasy football.
First, the matchup is ripe. Washington -- though not great -- is 13th in Adjusted Passing NEP per play this year. The Saints are dead last against the pass. That's an ideal pairing.
Second, Vegas is in love with this game. It has the second highest over/under of the week at 50. The spread is even, meaning both teams have an implied team total of 25 points. This also indicates that the teams are projected to be in neutral game script throughout the game, which is the glory spot for passing offenses.
Finally, the price is right. Kirk Cousins is only $6,500 on FanDuel and $5,200 on DraftKings, while none of his most viable receiving options is going to cost you more than that (outside of DeSean Jackson, who costs $5,400 on DraftKings). It's the perfect storm for DFS goodness. Even with the terrors of failed seemingly perfect matchups past haunting my dreams, I can't pass it up.
The guy I'd most want to stack with Cousins is Jordan Reed. Over the six games he has played this year, he's averaging nine targets per contest. Despite missing a pair of games, he has still seen 17.53 percent of the team's total targets, with that spiking to 23.28 percent in the games he has played. Considering the Saints have allowed seven top-10 tight end weekly performances against them in nine games, you bet Reed is a top option this week.
I also find Jackson super intriguing. As mentioned, he's $5,400 on DraftKings, and that number only rises to $6,000 on FanDuel. He only saw six targets last week in his first game back from injury, but he was on the field for 84.0 percent of the offensive snaps. I wouldn't be shocked if that number went up now that he's had an additional week to get back. As noted by Rotoworld's Rich Hribar, the Saints have allowed 38 pass plays of 20 yards or more this year, the second highest total in the league. Jackson should be on your tourney radar.
