The 10 Worst Quarterback Seasons Over the Last Decade
4. Marc Bulger, 2008
Despite not playing a single snap for the team, Marc Bulger was actually drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the sixth-round of the 2000 NFL Draft. Playing in 96 career games, all with the St. Louis Rams, Bulger saw some highs and some lows with the lowest of the low coming in 2008.
Every time Bulger dropped back to throw, the Rams lost 0.18 points compared to expectation, tied for the fifth-worst mark in this study’s period. Bulger completed just 57 percent of his throws, was sacked 38 times and threw more interceptions than touchdowns (13 to 11).
The Rams relied heavily on a then 25-year-old Steven Jackson but averaged just 14.5 points per game (30th) and won just 2 of Bulger’s 15 starts.
Bulger started just eight more games before retiring in 2009.
