Falcons part ways with Dan Quinn following Week 5 loss to Carolina
The Atlanta Falcons fired head coach Dan Quinn following their Week 5 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
The Falcons also fired general manager Thomas Dimitroff as they look to clean house and start a new era following an abysmal 0-5 start to the season. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Falcons’ president and CEO Rich McKay is now in charge of the team’s football operations. Quinn was hired by the Falcons back in 2015, recording an 8-8 record in his first season before leading them to back-to-back winning seasons in 2016 and 2017, including an infamous loss to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 51. In 2018, things took a turn for the worse, with the Falcons registering two consecutive losing seasons before starting this season with five losses in a row. Quinn will leave Atlanta with a career record of 43 wins and 42 losses.
The Falcons face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6.
