Cam Akers expected to make Vikings debut Week 4
Minnesota Vikings running back Cam Akers is expected to play in Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, per head coach Kevin O'Connell.
Akers was inactive in Week 3 after the Vikings acquired him from the Los Angeles Rams last week. He will likely operate in a backup role behind Alexander Mattison on Sunday, but Akers could earn more work if he has a strong debut.
numberFire's models project Akers for 6.5 FanDuel points in his season debut, with 8.8 carries, 38.2 rushing yards, 0.7 receptions, and 4.6 receiving yards. He has a $5,500 salary and is the RB47 in our Week 4 rankings. The Panthers' run defense is fourth-worst in the league through three weeks, based on our opponent-adjusted NEP model.
