Amari Cooper (heel) hopeful to play Thursday night for Browns
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (heel) is hopeful he can play on Thursday night versus the New York Jets in Week 17, reports Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Cooper remains questionable and could be heading for a true game-time decision. He was held out of practice on the short week after setting the Browns franchise record with a career-high 265 yards in Sunday's win over the Houston Texans. If Cooper is cleared to play on Thursday night, he will have a tougher matchup against Sauce Gardner and the Jets. Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman will be the primary receivers for Cleveland if Cooper is unavailable.
Cooper has a $14,500 single-game salary and numberFire's models project him for 10.5 FanDuel points, with 8.0 targets, 4.4 receptions, and 66.2 yards. The Jets are allowing the fewest FanDuel points per game to wide receivers this season and they have the fourth-best defense in the league, according to our opponent-adjusted efficiency metrics.
