Taylor Heinicke (ankle) ruled out for Falcons in Week 18; Desmond Ridder to start
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Taylor Heinicke will not play Sunday in the team's Week 18 game against the New Orleans Saints.
Heinicke entered the weekend with a questionable tag due to his ankle injury. Now, he has officially been ruled out of action with the playoffs on the line. That means it'll be Desmond Ridder under center for the Falcons, and Logan Woodside will serve as QB2.
In 14 games (12 starts) this season, Ridder is 227-of-358 passing for 2,545 yards with 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He also has 51 carries for 193 yards and 5 scores.
