Fantasy Baseball: A Value Hitter at Every Position

After a trip to disabled list due to a quadriceps injury, Troy Tulowitzki was activated and returned to the Toronto Blue Jays lineup on June 18th after missing 22 calendar days. To that point, Tulowitzki was hitting for a woeful .199 average with a mere 8 home runs through 47 games.

Between no longer playing in Colorado and the mounting list of injuries sustained over his career, it appeared that Tulowitzki could be headed for a rapid decline. Then, over his final 85 games, Tulowitzki rebounded by batting .280 and mashing 16 homers during that span.

Coming out of last year’s tailspin wasn’t enough to save Tulowitzki’s fantasy value, however. Now at 32, he’s no longer priced as a top-10 shortstop, being taken around pick 160 in NFBC drafts. Shortstop is deeper than usual thanks to an influx of young talent in recent years, further hurting Tulo's value, but the former early-round pick can still be a productive fantasy asset as he showed in the second half of 2016.
