Fantasy Football: Redrafting the First Round After 4 Weeks
7. DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston Texans
Houston Texans star receiver DeAndre Hopkins, the NFLs most targeted pass-catcher (49), comes in at seventh overall in our redraft. On pace for a career-high 196 targets, Hopkins is third at his position in PPR fantasy points with 31 receptions for 311 yards and 2 touchdowns through four games.
At his current rate, Hopkins would finish with the eighth-most targets in NFL history, and unlike last season when he was catching passes from Brock Osweiler, these targets seem to carry a bit more value thanks to the early success of rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson. Hopkins is currently fourth in Reception NEP at 30.02.
What we haven't seen yet from the Watson-to-Hopkins combination are any big plays, with 25 yards being his longest reception of the year. Perhaps the addition of former first-round pick Will Fuller, who returned from injury last week, will help loosen up coverage a bit for the former Clemson star who has 36 more targets than the next-closest receiver.
Yet even if the big plays don't come, the volume Hopkins is receiving is more than enough to keep as one of the must-start players in fantasy football, especially in PPR formats.
