Don't Draft These 10 Guys
Sammy Watkins, WR, Buffalo Bills
Rookie Sammy Watkins is electric, no doubt, but what isn't electric is the Bills' passing offense.
Last season, E.J. Manuel finished with the second-worst Passing Net Expected Points total in the NFL, only ahead of Geno Smith. The Bills offense is built for the run, seeing the third-lowest pass-to-run ratio in the NFL last year. With the signing of Bryce Brown in an already established backfield, there's no reason to believe the Bills are going to be pass-happy.
And that's not good news for Watkins, who not only has an uphill battle with this, but is also an inexperienced, rookie wide receiver. We've seen just 15 wideouts in NFL history hit the 1,000 yard receiving mark as rookie pass-catchers, and if Watkins wants to live up to his seventh-round cost, he'll need to get close to that. That, or he'll need to score at least six or so times. On a run-first team, that's not bankable.
